recently I had an argument with someone. He proposed a plan to set up a CVS server that includes a CVS server, and a separate box for all the people to compile the code on. Developers will then check out from CVS, then do their work separately, then compile the code on that compilation box, then check in the code to CVS.
I've never seen a CVS server set up that way in all the years I have worked, and I totally disagree with that plan as it is obviously a complication of the process without any good help. However, I want to ask softwar guys here if anyone of us has seen such a schema before.
