in northern California's wine country, the Anderson valley ,is a place of tranquility until harvest time.
then the race is under way, they pick the grape at it's peak. and the Navarro Winery owner Ted Bennett, now gets help from his daughter Sara.
she is just home from college with a masters in wine making, and some new ideas about running the place.
Sara has hired a herd of workers hungry to help, the new workers r called baby doll sheep, native ------- England.though not exactly cuddly they r short, and that's important in this job.
coz a bigger sheep, dally the grapes, dally it all, the baby doll's wont, they r too short to reach the grapes.their job is keep their heads down and eat weeds.
Cost me half for tractor time to spend take the weeds,so we can, u know, eliminate 50% of our fuel, just simply by replacing the machine.
but after months of tending this vines with the harvest is now a time for the little sheep to head home.and in the some ways that's in the fun, really begins.
herding sheep in the opening field is challenging enough, but for grace the border collie,a round upon the vines takes particular persistence ,from her point of view, the short little sheep legs wont get any rest, until they r all headed in the right direction.
Grace got the baby dolls out of the vines. -----* human takes over the job, probably a mistake, their job now is to get settle back in here and the go make babies.
and when that comes to that part of the job, the baby dolls don't see no least bit, sheepish, John Blackstone CBS news,P*luma California.
