This position is responsible for the functioning of the Supply Chain department. Supply chain involves all steps in the procurement of company’s products except purchasing and negotiations. The department is responsible from when the customer order is going to be placed until delivery on the ship or to customer’s warehouse.
Job Description:
- Liaise closely with head office to keep them up-dated on shipment status, using the logistics software, Internet and telephone.
- Maintain effective communication with suppliers to achieve adequate tracking of every order in full containers and in consignments.
- Ensure that all shipments are handled efficiently and delivery deadlines are met.
- Ensure supplier submits the order-confirmation in time.
- Ensure that the company’s departments supply all documents in time, so that the supplier does not have delays.
- Keep pushing supplier for the production end date if there is any change.
- Coordinate with forwarder to ship the order on time.
- Coordinate internally to get the export number.
- Ensure that the department is adequately backed-up for each function. Sudden departures or holidays do not lead to delays in shipments.
- Report weekly on deviations from plan and report on the reasons for deviations.
- Ensure fines for late deliveries are executed by the Financial department.
- Report on the quality of suppliers in respect to reliability of supply.
- Make proposals to improve the operation of the department and increase efficiency to the General Manager.
Qualifications:
- University and above.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Skilled in PC.
- Above 5 year relevant experience.
