1988-1991年, 纽约洛克菲勒大学博士后, 从师 James Darnell, Jr.；
1992-1994年, 纽约西奈山医学院助理教授；
1994-2003年，耶鲁大学副教授，耶鲁大学癌症研究中心研究员,耶鲁大学 肝病研究中心研究员,耶鲁大学病理学医学博士论文审核委员会主席；
2004 - now 美国印第安那大学医学院 微生物及免疫系 教授；
美国国家卫生院(NIH)血液学基金评委；
美国癌症协会基金评委，香港、以色列、新西兰等科学基金会国际评审专家；
Science、Nature、Cell、Immunity、PNAS、Mol. Cell. Biol.、Cancer Research、Gene & Development、Blood 等国际科学期刊论文审查特约专家；

重要科学贡献：
1987年，首先发现基因选择拼接因子 (Alternative Splicing Factor)。1992年，首先克隆STAT基因，阐明STAT细胞信号转导途径。1996年，首次发现STAT PATHWAY对细胞生长及凋亡的调控作用，及在人类疾病中的关键作用。1999年，首次证明STAT PATHWAY对于T淋巴细胞激活的关键作用，从而揭示了免疫反应的一个重要分子机理。2003年，利用动物模型阐明STAT3在Innate Immunity中的调控作用以及和炎症的关系及在脂肪代谢和体温调节中的重要功能。
