有啥也不能有病，没啥也不能没钱。呵呵。创业往往是看到一个商业机会，不想错过。Of course you have to be ready. Therefore, you got to be a part of the top management looking for and waiting for a takeover opportunity. For IT engineers the best way to be your own boss is to start as an independent contractor for your current company first; then you add more and more client companies.
Yes, there are financial risks to be an entrepreneur. However, gradually you can shield yourself and your family from such risks. You need to study risk management how to do it. When people buy or start a business, most of them have to get a commercial loan, which will definitely require your personal guarantee; that means your personal assets such as savings, cds, houses and others will be used as collaterals. If the loan goes bad, your assets will be taken away. This is the highest risks against you and your family interests. Therefore, in the first several years after you become a boss, take less money from your company profit pools or retained earnings as your distribution/dividend, but pay down the loan principles as much as possible. You will not be home free until the collaterarized loan is paid off! After you are mortgage free and no collaterals against your personal assets, you have achieved financial securities even though your company still has debts which hopelly will be taken care of by the annual cashflow that your company generates as a stand alone business entity. In another word, in the worst scenario your company's failure will not spill over to your personal assets. 
商业机会是机不可失，时不再来。 讲个故事：
In 1992 when Wang Labs went bankrupt, its high-rizing headquarter buildings in the Boston suburb were being auctioned off under the court orders. I got the complete info and spent weeks to get enough money before I could go. I planned to pool together one million for the auction. Instead I could only get about half of it. And to be honest, mentally I was not ready for it because I was happy with the stock market activities. It turned out to be my first blunder. On the auction day the bidding started around 200k and not many people even bidded. The final bidding price was hammered out at ONLY 550k usd!! It took Dr. An Wang more than $25 million to build the office building. Today it may be worth north of 200 million. I am no entrepreneur at all, period!!!
