I also know both Zhao and his ex wife, the mother of his eldest daughter. I need to say something for the mother.
The mother recently came back to U.S. after over 5 months in China to get her daughter and wait for the court case filed by Zhao in China. Now she had to come back because she needs to come back to work to pay rent. The main point here is the daughter can not come back to U.S. with her mother because her father refuses to give the passport. Now the daughter is away from both Mother and father at this point. Even though Zhao loves his daughter which I have no doubt however his stupid decision on withholding the passport makes everyone's life misable and is very unfair to put his daughter in this situation.
Regarding child support, that's parent's responsibility. If you make a kid then it is your damn resposiblity to raise her. It's your obligation to the kid and it's mother's duty to make sure father fullfill his obligation in terms of his time and financial obligation. I am so surprised why people even think the mother should give up the right for her daughter and even think the mother is greedy to ask for the money. This is not about money it's about taking responsibility.
I agree that Zhao loves her daughter and will definitely NOT abuse her daughter however the father is busy with his business travelling often while the step mom stays home all the time. I am definitely not surpirsed and I don't think anyone else will be surprised that the daughter was neglected especially after the step mother had her own baby girl.
Rather posting all the attrack and doing stupid thing like withholding passport, Zhao should just start acting like a MAN. Being a man means your interest or your pride comes 2nd to your daughter's happiness and take you responsibility. You both need to give your daughter a normal life that's let her have mom and Dad both in her life while she is growing up. If Zhao acts soon to give the passport to the mother, I think there is still a very good chance to give their daughter a relative normal life. Be a Man, do the right thing.
