上周五在Pebble Beach Golf li<x>nks（圆石滩）打了场高尔夫。都说 "Any bad golf day is better than a super workday"。如能在Pebble打场球，那自然是 a super day 了。
有朋友自国内来，要到旧金山度假，打球。我想, 在旧金山打球, 要打就打Pebble。Pebble Beach高尔夫球场在全美排第四，全世界排第五（Per GOLF MAGZINE，September, 2007）。但要订Tee time很不易，一般要求在Pebble的resort里住（costs， $600 -- $2500/night, and the green fee, $475+cart $30）才有可能订到。时间又很紧，只好碰碰运气。功夫不负有心人，经过一番努力加运气，在上周三订到周五的Tee time, @ 7:10 AM。 上场时的天气绝好，无风也没雾。据说这样的天气在当地一年里也只有几天。球场自然是非常之美，远眺是海天一色。近处是古松垂柳月牙湾。球场的多数洞，象第３，４，５，６，７，８，９，１０，１７，１８号洞都靠海而建，可听见浪涛拍岸，怀疑大风时，海浪能溅到果岭上来。这里著名的洞有７号，１７号和１８号洞。附上一些照片。只可惜照片所显示的比实景要差百倍。
I played a good round of golf in a almost perfect day. I was often distracted by the scenery. A good golf tip: if you can afford, and want to play a good round of golf, hire a caddie. The greens are fast and deceiving, very tough to read. The caddie in our group saved me at least 2-3 strokes. He kept reminding me the ball breaks towards the ocean; even your eyes tell you the opposite.
We also spent a day touring the winery country of Napa Valley, sipping champagne and wine, enjoying the awesome scenery of the vineyards and valleys. Many of the famous wine houses are like historical museums with unique architecture, sculptures, and gardens, as well as art galleries. It was really a good educational, relaxing and enjoyable trip. Highly recommended even you are not a wine drinker.

I had a perfect tee shot here, then turned around and hit a ball right into the ocean. You got to do this at least once. That was fun. I felt the ball flew over 300 yards.
