Traditionally GM is mixing different strains of crops to get the traits you want in the resultant decendant crop，it's been done for a long time and impossible to stop it now, but at least it uses crops ony. Transgenetic goes one step further, and one step too far IMO, by introducing foreign genes into crops, like genes from bacteria, which could have very unpredictable long term consequences. Companies that try to rush those transgenetic foods to the market are only interested in recouping their cost in research and development and making a profit, essentially turing consumers into unknowing guinea pigs.
