himself to profit from these macro trends in the
next few decades? America still has the most
adaptive and best self-correcting system to meet the
challenge of the future. The only other major challenge
I see is energy and oil. As developing countries
catches up with consumption, and oil supply stagnants,
it's only a matter of time before we have another oil
crisis like the 70's. There will be conflicts between
countries competing for limited resources. Cheap
alternative energy may still be decades away.
Accumulating oil and pipeline stocks may be a good
long-term investment, though their current valuation
is a little too lofty. You may notice lately money
are flowing out of tech and moving into energy and
other more defensive plays.

As an aside, the odds of a mega eruption in yellowstone is
too small.
