Any strong and solid writing should be based on strong logic, but not a plain style.
This sir said:"If we value our independence, we should try to improve our Cantonese. Mainlanders cannot then understand us. That would always be an advantage for us." But he also said:"Everyone in Hong Kong wants to learn English - nothing wrong with that."
Wow, holly crap! What a logic! Should I say:"if you value your independence, you should try to improve your Cantonese. English speakers cannot then understand us. That would always be an advantage for us." It's a shame, to feel proud when the majority of Chinese could not understand them, also refuse learning Putonghua, but feel bad if their English is not good enough!
What can I say to this Mr. Tang. Why there's no Tiger Balm in Europe? It's very normal a French can speak good enough English, German, etc. Many of them love to learn foreign languages and culture, they may be more interested in mainland China and its culture then Hong Kong people like you!
When I was at school, Hong Kong Students Association didn't really want to join CSSA's activities, they looked down upon mainlanders... It's a shame of all Chinese.
