It's as simple as animal instinct. Having intercourse with as many females as possible has been a sign of power, gratification and dominance. There is nothing new or out-of-the-ordinary.
Since 1949, human nature has been supressed and crushed. Now, it's time for the beast to come out of the cage. Actually the right to choose the life style you want is your right as long as it doesn't infringe on other people's life. There are other forces to control this behavior, like STD, AIDS, etc.
