most artists of real chinese local breed (never exposed as haigui) moved in with studios already established somewhere else. the poor and real artists from outside china (haigui and the white dudes) actually live there.
overall, no commercial galleries in 798 is making good or any money for the short run, but most of them are i for the promotion of their pr images. so it does not seem that they care.
basically for those operating galleries, if you ain't got a deep pocket and a chain location op, this is not your cup of tea. this is not where you can make a quick run and hit the jack pot.
for those who can afford studio here in 798, they typically are already somewhat known and only to stay here to establish and systain a status of Established Contemporary Chinse Artist"
why the heck i know any thing about it? good question. come and find out. the seaturtlecafe.net will have its first location right here at 798.
come in and look for 3818Cook Art Galleries and you will find
the first sea turtle cafe located right there.

as any art gallery/museum anywhere in the world they are closed on every monday.
i will soon post more details to let you know how to apply for a memebership so that you can qualify yourself and your guests for 20% discount consumptions there (not on the art works but the drinks and stuff...)
