It seems to me that you tend to see the bad side of things... remember? Once you opened a post of my novel and said it had a virus in it, and it turned out that you clicked it twice... (That was quite a while ago, and I happen to have a good memory. )
Frankly I'm not really nosy about the gender/location/personality of the IDs, and I think that's the beauty of the Web...
