getting prepared for the worst is always good. in fact you never know: you may actually find a better job than this one
having said that, do not presume anything, until your boss talks to you
there maybe several possible senarios
1. they move you to a different sopt
which you will take without any protest, just keep looking for a better alternative elsewhere
2. they tell you they are ready to let you go
in this case, be cool, just ask what does that mean? lay off or fired?
lay off? talk about the terms
fired? on what ground?
if they fire you withought a justifiable cause, you can go to your state work commission to protest about racial discrimination
3. nothing happens. then you keep on doing what you do, only doing it better and now talking to both ceo and cfo, after a week or so if they do not talk to you about your job
i suspect you pissed off the cfo who is your boss by going direct to the ceo.
go talk to cfo and ask him to review your job with you, set the expectation and ask for his guidance
go talk to ceo and do the same thing.
then see how it goes
