"the ones I love"-This is a very common English expression. It you lived long enough in English speaking country, you will know. It looks strange from a grammatical point of view but hey one cannot learn language purely from grammar.
Good try but if I were you, I would not try to pick on SR's English. People who went through 4-year colleges in US or Canada usually speak and write English like natives - otherwise they will not be able to graduate. Graduate schools are entirely a different story.
