Opportunity to join leading edge Business Intelligence product development team in the role of Teradata specialist. Experienced database practioner with specific background in large-scale databases/data warehouses with at least two years developing/administering Teradata systems.
Mandatory
• 5 years experience in developing/administering database systems, at least 3 of which must be on large scale databases >5Tb
• Minimum of 2 years Teradata experience
• Understanding of Logical data modelling/Physical data modelling
• Database administration
o Maintenance of user accounts
o Space allocation
o Creation of database instances
o Space estimation
o Tuning
o Backup and restore
o Security
o Use of roles and profiles
• Database development
o Understanding of jdbc/odbc
o Extensive query writing experience
o Debugging sql scripts
o Development of Stored procedures and macros
• Java/C++, able to write programs which connect to database.
• Teradata Master certification preferred
Desirable
• Extensive data warehousing experience preferably on very large scale systems(>20Tb) and if possible having the requirement they have high daily load rates, > 5bn records/day
• Telecom background
• Experience in Oracle/MySQL
• Mentoring other team members on Teradata
• Familiarity with Teradata
• xml, Perl, Shell script
• Linux
