But in the US, top MBAs hold higher status than Big Five accountants. These depend on the difficulty of the passing exam. AICPA is much easier than UK's CA or even ACCA. Also people in the HK Big Four are held with higher esteem because in the older days, those old bankers in old Shanghai are mostly accountants.
I still have friends working now more than five or six years in Big Four Shanghai. Yeah, it depends on the firm specifically. PWC in Shanghai is a better place, less stressful...Don't quite like Deloitte Shanghai office...KPMG Shanghai has big restructure since 2000...Guess the current finance-related fresh graduates have more choices with so many i-bankers and consulting firms coming into China...
