There's leverage in all modern financial instruments. To trade $125,000, banks would normally ask for only 10% as the initial margin.
Also, for clients maintaining a high balance or on good terms, each individual transaction size doesn't have to be in the range of millions.
Global Forex markets (spot, forward/NDF, swap, etc) are not limited to any particular geographic region. What matters is which bank is willing to enter a contract with you, while he offsets his own risk with fellow NDF participating bankers.
