work places have dress code, so do all other occasions.
if you go to ballet, opera on a saturday night or sunday matinee, what would you wear?
if you are attending a beach party, what would you wear?
if you are going to next door neighbor's house for a dinner, what would you wear?
if you are attending a company get together what would you wear?
if you are attending a business meeting what would you wear?
if you are attending a fancy charity ball what would you wear?
guess what? depends where you are, the answer could be so different: from france to italy to germany, from uswc to usec
and then to usgc...
you would need to make your observation and adapt to become appropriate.
the point, it is not just about the color, it is really more about occasion appropriate. most chinese today grow up without the chances going through occasions like this, therefore most thought all they have to do is to be fashionable. WRONG!
you would need to show your appropriate dressing not to be regarded as someone just came out of caves.
if you show that right, you may not speak good english, but then your fancy brand name watch or fancy brand name clothing become all appropriate. otherwise, no matter how much expensive stuff you put on yourself, you are still some one not so cultured and need to get seasoned...
knowing when to where what to be appropriate is much more importnant than what color to choose.
now that we are on color, let's talk about it:
black, white and grey are never out of fashion on the level of "high society". if you pay attention, those very expensive designer clothes many are in this category. you can pay dearly for it, but yet you can wear them year after year at certain occasions and not to be too out of fashion.
collor stuff are always out of fashion fast. when this year say have red in, next year you would chase after brown, then following year would have green or blue...
think about the custome jewleries, they are cheap thus they have to go with different dress and you can afford it. pearl is expensive but goes just about with any thing and everything.
so are the fashion watches, cheap so you can afford color coordination: business suit goes with your golden dress watch, while red skirt goes with your red watch, white dress goes with white watch...
would color makes differenceon individuals? you bet you!
if you are blond and with blue eyes, then blue dress will bring out color of your eyes and you would look very appealing
if you are a few more pounds over weight, then you would not want to wear white.
if you have great tan, then white is the color to go to have your tan showing even better
if you have black hair and really nice skin, then red suit and black skirt would be the way to make it even more appealing
you have long neck, make sure the cutting shows it
you have pretty long legs, wear mini skirts especially leather ones
you have great...bust, then wear low cuts...
then we also need to look at our hair fashions: what hair style actually make your face look sexier rather than more fashionable?
